The State of the Union conference brings together political personalities from European institutions and national governments, prominent academics and business leaders to discuss the development and the future of the EU. It is an annual event for high-level reflection on the European Union, organised by the European University Institute (EUI).
After successful events in 2011 and 2012, the conference again takes place in the historic Palazzo Vecchio (Florence City Hall) on 9 May, the anniversary of the Schuman Declaration. For the second time, the State of the Union is organised in the framework of Florence’s biennial Festival d’Europa 2013.
The full programme for the 2013 event is now available, including up-to-date information on speakers and topics. The conference will be live-streamed.
